The quest for the BEST Reuben I have ever had!
#

A good reuben sandwich to me is one of the best things I have ever eating. On this page it is my intention to review and recommend Reuben’s I have had as I’ve traveled and here in Michigan. I’m hoping to find the best one out there and rate them using the five 🥪🥪🥪🥪🥪 Reuben scale.

📌 Manny’s Cafeteria & Delicatessen
#

Manny’s located in Chicago has been serving up deli sandwiches since 1942. They offer a Reuben with a choice of corn beef, pastrami, turkey pastrami, or roasted turkey.

I feel that a classic Reuben should be corned beef, cheese, a dressing, and sauerkraut on grilled bread. Manny’s take was fantastic. The corned beef was excellent. The kraut was tangy paired with the swiss cheese and their 1000 dressing really complete the sandwich. The bread held up and was well grilled.

Rueben Rating: 🥪🥪🥪🥪

You should stop by Manny’s if you are in Chicago.

📌 Shapiro’s Delicatessen

Shapiro’s located in downtown Indianapolis has been in operation since 1905. Their Rueben has house-made corned beef, two slices of Germam-Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing. The bread was great and well grilled. The corned beef was the best that I have had. It brought a savory depth to the sandwich, tender, and delicious. The game changer to me is that the sauerkraut is placed in the middle of the corned beef. Preventing kraut from compromising the bread. I loved this change and the sandwich was fantastic!

Rueben Rating: 🥪🥪🥪🥪🥪

If you are in the Indianapolis area I highly recommend stopping by.
